WANTED TO BUY: Tyco Roadsters1.JPG (28239 bytes) OLD ELECTRIC SLOT CARS

HO scale slot car track for the racing of vintage 1960's Aurora Model Motoring slot cars.

The table is constructed of 3/4" maple veneer, cabinet grade plywood.
There are six sections, (4) 4x4 sections making up the 4'x16' main area,
with (1) 2'x3' and (1) 4'x3' section used for the extensions on either end.
Each section has guide pins to line up the top surfaces and is bolted to the adjoining section.
Steel legs with adjustable ends were used, and allowed the table to be completely leveled once bolted together.

Built for the racing of Aurora ThunderJets, 90 % of the approximately
250 pieces of track are vintage '60's Aurora Model Motoring track.
The exception is the elevated back straight which uses (20) new 15" Model Motoring straights.

These views don't show the support boxes for the elevated back straight.
You can see in the photo above the solid 8 lane turn, using every radius from 6" to 15",
with the inside and outside 4 lane groups running in opposite directions.

(This corner has been revised, see pictures further down the page)

Below you can see one of the more unusual sections which consists of 6' of  Aurora single lane track.

(The single lane straights have been lengthened to 9', see pics further down the page)

(The new track support is pictured in the photo below)

I've also striped the track and you can get a better idea
of the track path, especially in the 8 lane turn area.
